Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the PolyTape API. By accessing our data, you agree to be bound by these conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

PolyTape ("we," "us," or "our") provides historical and real-time market data services (the "Service") via our Application Programming Interface ("API"). By registering for an account, obtaining an API key, or accessing our data, you ("User" or "Client") agree to comply with these Terms of Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. License & Data Usage Rights

2.1 Limited License: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the API strictly in accordance with these Terms.

2.2 Permitted Use: You may use the data for internal business analysis, trading strategy development, academic research, and displaying derivative works (e.g., charts) to end-users.

2.3 Prohibited Use: You may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the raw API data to third parties.
  • Create a competing API or data service that functions as a substitute for PolyTape.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service outside of authorized API limits.
  • Share your API key with third parties.

3. Payment Terms (Crypto & Credits)

3.1 Pay-As-You-Go Model: Services are billed via a credit system. Credits are purchased using cryptocurrency (USDC/USDT) on supported blockchain networks.

3.2 Finality of Transactions: Blockchain transactions are irreversible. PolyTape is not responsible for funds sent to incorrect addresses, unsupported networks (e.g., sending ETH to a Polygon address), or loss of funds due to User error.

3.3 No Refunds: All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active and in good standing.

4. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but provide the Service on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.

5. Financial Disclaimer & Liability

PolyTape is a data provider, not a financial advisor. The data provided is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as investment advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PolyTape shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from: (i) the use or inability to use the Service; (ii) trading losses incurred based on our data; (iii) unauthorized access to your data or API keys. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the last 12 months.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

7. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
